Bust My Buttons, We're Engaged!

Everyone says that going to a bar to find the perfect mate never happens. Nothing real ever comes of the nighttime gatherings at the local pub. And quite honestly, who would have ever thought that Rick would have ever made it past my rolling eyes and cynicism as he said, “Don’t do that again!” He was of course taking advantage of the bird’s eye view down my scoop neck shirt as I kneeled and chatted with my friend. I just ignored his comments and continued on with my own merry making. As the night went forward, Rick pulled many tricks out of his sleeve…literally.

You see, Rick is quite the accomplished magician, and he was pulling out all of the stops for my friends, but when it came to my turn I was not impressed. He kept botching everything up and I was seeing right through his routine. David Blaine would have been embarrassed to see such a magic disaster. Looking back, I can’t help but be flattered because that means I must have had some affect on him. Although he wasn’t the Houdini that he was for my friends, it gave him the window of opportunity that he was looking for. And that my friends, is how Rick and I met. Very slushed up in a bar.
Two and a half years and a beautiful baby girl later, Rick proposed on Christmas morning. We couldn’t be happier…and yes he still screws up his tricks just for me.
